We chose to visit, as we knew of the children’s play area & thought it would be ideal for our needs.
The play area met our expectations & was ideal for a visit with toddlers. However, the overall service & cleanliness of the restaurant was awful.
The floors were dirty, with left over bits of food from the night before. Which meant it was unsafe for my little one to crawl or sit, as I’d hoped.
The female toilets were also unclean, no toilet roll or soap available.
We chose to eat at the breakfast buffet, which the standard of food was generally good & excellent value for money. However, most of the staff serving were unhelpful & inattentive. We had to ask several time for cups, tea, hot water to be provided at the drinks refill station. Also, when we asked about the cleanliness of the toilets & restaurant we were told that it had been a busy morning & therefore staff were unable to deal with the issue. We were not satisfied with the attitude of the staff & would only return to the Hillfield because of the usefulness of the play area. Everything else was very disappointing.
